Business
A UK founder or company can establish a French entity, but the correct sequence depends on who will own, manage and work in the business. Corporate formation does not by itself grant a founder the right to live or work in France.
Property
A UK resident can buy property in France, but ownership does not create a right to live there. The legal process is led by a French notaire, while independent advice may be needed on ownership structure, preliminary terms, finance, tax and succession before the buyer commits.
Tax
Tax residence is not determined by a visa, property purchase or one day-count rule alone. French domestic criteria and, where both countries claim residence, the UK–France treaty must be applied to the complete facts.
